Hi @seemupre,

Do you mean a mobile phone contract, DSL or cable?

Its amobile phone contaract.

The unfortunate thing is that you don't have a right to premature end the contract - as this only applies to landline contracts that cannot be fullfilled anymore at the new address.

So in your case - if you need a local number - you'll need to get a second contract from a local provider. But this has nothing to do with the contract you have with Vodafone.

I have purchased this contract with other friends. My friend has left the country as well and his phone contract was canceled by vodafone. Its a shame, I paied a large sum of money for the contract, got less benifits and now I cannot cancel the contract. I prefer vodafone, as it is renouned and reliable service provider and value the customer.

I don't understand why I cannot get the some waiver. I have been with vodafone for 2 years7months. I will highly appreciate, if you can consider that all the payment are done on time and I stayed with Vodafone so long.

It is very disappointing for me to see that company doesn't value my loyality and cannot provide me a favor (as somehow my contract had a speciall clause in it). I cannot effort to pay for two sevice provider at the same time. Keeping this phone active and buy second simcard is highly inconvenient for me.

I can fully understand your point - but you opted for a contract with a 2 year minimum term and automatic renewal for another year if you do not cancel at least 3 months before the end of the term. That's what you -by yourself- opted and signed for. Especially if you already left in September - that's 4 months from today.

If your friend opted for another contract or even a Prepaid card (which has no minimum term at all), then he might cancel it faster - but this has nothing to do with your contract. Same if he wrote his cancellation for the extension in time and thus his contract was ended at the end of the regular term.

And as I said: The only right to premature cancel the contract would have been if the service could not been presented as agreed upon - but as your contract can be fullfilled as agreed upon, you are bound to the contract until the end of the term. And please keep in mind to send your cancellation notice (in German, as German is the sole contractual language) to Vodafone in time - otherwise the contract will extend for another year.
