I received a call from this number yesterday +49 172 1279076 and they told me that they're from vodafone. They told me I am paying too much for my contract and they have better offer. They gave me all the details about new offer and said ok because it was promising. They than told me due to contractual reasons they will read the contract in german and I just have to say yes. I did exactly the same. After the call they told me they will send me an email with english contract and everything. I got suspicious because vodafone never sent me anything in english even after my request. I didn't shared with them anything that is related to credit card, customer password or anything.
In the morning I called vodafone support luckily I was transferred to someone who were able to speak english. I explained everything and he checked everything and told me not to worry about anything. He told me there's no new contract and they can't do anything with my account, even if they try to do I will receive and email directly. He told me to change my customer password. I did it now but seems like the change will take effect after one day due to security measures. They told me to contact Kabel Deutschland in order to check if everything is fine with my Kabel contract. I tried to call but no one speaks english there and I can't find an english hotline. My colleague from company called kabel and they told him everything is fine with my contract. I shared details to my colleague only.
My question is Do I need to worry about the call? Will they be able to use voice recording to buy some contracts and stuff from vodafone without my permission? and also if you could please give an english hotline for Kabel Deutschland, it would be super awesome. So do you guys think I need to report it to police for spam or phishing attempt case?
I am worried and looking for answers, please let me know if you guys can help.
