Moving to an apartment/locality with super slow internet.

Hello I have Vodafone 100 Cable internet contract in Hamburg. I have recently moved to Berlin and the Vodafone umzug service only offers a maximum of 16 Mbps DSL instead of 50 Mbps or above cable connection. High speed internet connection is required for my work from home situation and 16 Mbps is just not going to be acceptable.

 

If Vodafone can offer me a faster alternative to 16Mbps such as (50Mbps and above), I am fine with continuing my ongoing contract (4 years and counting). Else I would like to cancel my contract immediately. There are other providers in the area that are somehow able to offer faster speeds. Why is this happening with Vodafone?

Hello Grit,

I went to the Vodafone Umzug service online tool that offered me another contract for this new location at 16Mbps DSL with a 24 Month contract.

If I am going to be stuck with a 24 Month slow but expensive contract at the new location, I am not very keen to continue with Vodafone.

I can provide more details about my move but not in a public forum.

Unfortunately we can't provide more than 16 MBit/s ad the new address. Since that bandwidth isn't enough for purposes, we'll manage the cancellation of your contract due to your move.

 

You'll get a written confirmation for this with the termination date and the instructions where to send back our devices.

Thanks for your reply. Can you please make sure that the written confirmation is sent to my new address? My old apartment has been already been handed over to the landlord.

 

I have all the devices with me and I will be able to send them back to Vodafone. No issues with that.
