Guten Tag,

I'm leaving the country so need to cancel my red cable contract. I called customer services in June to notify that I'll be leaving in November/December but haven't had any confirmation back.

Since then I have called multiple times and no one has been able to assist me. I have sent a online contact form and been informed to post a new thread on the forum. I can see that my termination date has been update on my account to January however this isn't correct.

Please could you get in touch so we can discuss this further

Hi Stephan,

I just received an email from Vodafone stating there is an outstanding balance of €34.49. It seems as if they haven’t updated my termination date. I sent back the router on the 20th November 2018.

the invoice is correct.

 

After your message here in October that you will leave the country on 20.11.2018, I changed the notice from 01.03.2019 to 18.02.2019.

 

You should have received a written confirmation from us in October.

Why would you change my termination date to later. I informed you guys in June / July that I would be leaving and gave plenty of notice. I only received an email from Vodafone stating that my move date has been changed. It didn’t say what that date was. When I got back to you on the forum asking why it wasn’t updated on the portal you said it would be. It is only now I’m finding out for some bizarre reason that the termination date has been extended. I have left the country and closed my bank accounts as I no longer reside there.

Hello A319X,

 

your resignation date is correct. Your contract was terminated 3 months after your move date according to the Telecommunications Act. Until this date, the connection will also be charged.

The telecommunications act states that I have to provide 3 months notice. I have given more than that. It does not mention it should be from when I move. Please provide evidence of this if this is the case.

there are also court rulings where this has been so decided. You can also read it on our help page "What do I have to do if I move abroad?".
