Hello!
I currently have a contract with Vodafone DSL, which will be ended by 22.07.2020. I want to switch to M-net which has fiber and higher brandwidth, but they tell me I have to shut off the DSL connection otherwise they cannot connect to me.
So I'm asking if it's possible to terminal the DSL connection in advance, so that I can switch to other provider earlier? I can still pay until the end of the contract.

Hi Tian1,
You can order another provider to port the landline number. The Vodafone contract will be canceled on July 2020 then and the contract with the new provider starts at the same day.
Ending your Vodafone contract early is not possible in this case.
Maybe you can switch to a higher bandwidth with your Vodafone connection.

I don't want to end the contract early, but I just want to terminate the DSL connection so that I can switch to another provider. Of course I will continue to pay until the end of contract.
Is there a way to do this?

Hi Tian1,
I'm afraid it's not so easy. We can terminate the contract prematurely. You will then have to pay the basic fee in a total amount. The monthly payment is no longer possible after termination.

Will the internet stop immediately if I terminate the contract prematurely? And if things don't work out, can I still reconnect my existing contract?

Hi Tian1,
if we terminate a DSL contract prematurely, it takes at least 10 workdays until the line is cancelled. So if your new provider can't activate the line, we have no chance to reactivate it shortly as we have to rent the line from Telekom.

Hi Bo,
if you send me your customer password via PN, I can check this for you. This means that you will lose the line within a few days.
Attention: If you cancel the contract that way, the process is not reversible, a quick reconnection is therefore impossible.
