I have a vodafone wifi contract (monthly 39.99 euros). I see my bank was charged 43.59 euros this month while it was charged 39.99 euros last month.

I would like to seek clarification on it.

just have a look at your customer portal, you will find your bills there. They show the exact period and the amount charged for what. Which contract do you use?
