Internetverbindung Problem - timeout

Please help me out as I don't know what do from here.

 

I am getting a timeout error when trying to set up my Fritz Box 7530 through the connection assistant. Vodafone never sent someone to physically activate it, they said they activated my internet remotely.

 

I have updated the firmware to the latest version, but still the same error.

 

I have tried to contact the technical support hotline, but they refused to speak to me since they told me it was a German hotline number. My German is not good enough to discuss technical details for sure..

 

I ordered the DSL only package with no telephone connection, could this be the issue? If so, was not aware both are needed as it wasn't explained to me.

 

Is there any way to get someone to have a look at this?
