You have switched your contract or you are planning to do so. Now you want to keep your phone number. Of course, that's possible – and easy: with a few steps, you can make your old number your new one. Here’s what you need to know about number portability and how you can do it yourself.

Whether you are bringing your mobile number from another provider to us or have switched to us and now want your old landline number back, both are quick to handle. You can check if you can port your number here. (For translation use your browser plugin)

Switching from Another Mobile Provider to Vodafone

For instance, you are switching from a contract (not prepaid) to a new mobile contract with us. Your new contract starts in less than 8 days. The requirements for porting your number are met. Here’s how it works:

  1. Ask your previous provider for a document with your data for number portability.
  2. Request your number portability online or in one of our shops.
  3. Number portability can take up to 8 days. If you have already started your new contract and miss your old number, you can still port it up to 3 months after contract termination. Please request it at least 14 days before the deadline.

Switching from Vodafone to Another Mobile Provider

Or do you want to switch from your current mobile contract to another provider? TOBi will guide you step-by-step through porting your number. Here’s what you need to keep in mind:

  • Request your new provider to port your number within 30 calendar days.
  • You can find the data for number portability in MeinVodafone under My Data – Porting a Number to Another Provider.
  • Number portability takes about 8 days.

Everything Else You Need to Know About Porting Your Number

As you can see, porting your number is simple if you know how. Here are a few important details:

  • Free of charge for you.
  • Possible up to 3 months after termination.
  • Request the porting at least 14 days before the deadline.
  • You will receive the new SIM card by post before the contract ends.
  • Activation of your number on the agreed date.
  • Important: Make sure all details on the number portability form match the details with your old provider – such as birthdate, double names.

No problem! Important: Porting is possible up to 90 days after the disconnection of your old line.
