Direct Debit not working

I have DSL Internet with Vodafone since May 2020. The contract was transferred to me from the previous tenant. I filled out the transfer form correctly, but Vodafone spelled my name wrong so my direct debit could not be charged. I went to a shop, filled out a form with the correct banking information, and faxed it to the main Vodafone. Unsurprisingly, they did not make any corrections. Yesterday, I changed my information through Payment Methods on my account. I want to make sure that Vodafone can withdrawal fees from me in the future.

Hi Fann,

 

I can see that the contract transfer was made last year, that's correct. But there was no direct debit since you took the contract. I have corrected the bank account owner, so there should be no problem with the direct debit. At the moment, your customer account has a credit because of your bank transfers. So we can only take money from your bank account when there is an outstanding amount due.

Hi Dany,

I still do not know if my direct debit is working. Please DO NOT change the bank account owner! The current one is correct. I changed it myself a few days ago. Vodafone got my name wrong twice when I accepted the contract, and thus was not able to be direct debited until I found a way to change the bank contact. Since shops are closed, I cannot pay with cash. Please direct debit me for Feb 2021, so that I will not have outstanding dues. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the amount has not been debited from my bank account. Can you please check to make sure that everything is working, and to debit the amount from my account if everything is ok? Again, the name of the account owner is Fan Wu, not Fa as written on my contract. Vodafone made that mistake. Thanks.
