Hello!
I changed my contract from "Red Internet & Phone 200 Cable" to "Red Internet & Phone 500 Cable" two days ago.
I changed my router for the CGA4233DE that I received, and the installation went fine. Took a long time with all the lights flashing (firmware upgrade) and the speed that I got was fine (500/25).
The problem is that, several times a day, I lose my connection to the router and of course, don't have internet.
After some investigations (I had today a ping running every second) discovered that the router is rebooting randomly. I could enter the admin page of the CGA4233DE and I could see that it wasn't a line problem, but a full reboot (uptime was 2 minutes when I checked).
What can I do? Is that the router is faulty maybe?
More details:
- Connection to the router: LAN gigabit
- Operating system of the computers accessing: everything (Mac OS X, Linux, Windows, Android, ...)
- When does the error happen? It's random. Yesterday it happened 4 times in a row for an hour, today so far only once.
- Ownership of the cable-modem/router: rent
- Location: Berlin
Thanks in advance, and thanks for attending me in english 🙂

Hello kspbln,
maybe something is wrong with the signal values, so the router is forced to reboot. What do the level values on the modem look like? You can find them in the modem menu under Status/DOCSIS-Status.
Best regards Fred

Hello ERFD.
Thanks for answering to my case 🙂
I noticed that the router reboots after a heavy transfer session, like downloading ISOs or performing an internet speed test (with Ookla, Vodafone or similar).
I left the router purposedly with low load during the weekend and by the uptime I can tell that didn't reboot a single time, but today I started working again (home office) and I'm afraid I'll suffer disconnections again. We'll see.
Here you are the DOCSIS statuses, I hope they are helpful.
Best regards!

Hello kspbln,
so the router breaks in under heavy load? Maybe too many errors are generated during transmission and this causes a timeout/reboot. The signals look fine at first sight. I like to have a closer look at this. Can you please send me your customer number, address and date of birth as legitimation by private message?
Write here briefly when you have sent the data.
Best regards Fred

Hello kspbln,
I can confirm this. These signals at the modem are currently good. We'll monitor it for a few more days.
Best regards Fred
