Slow Internet connection (mainly during the evening)

Hello,

I got a Red Internet & Phone 1000 Cable subscription with a Vodafone Station modem.

Starting a few months ago, the internet connection got extremely slow during the nights (5-10 mb/s)  or even totally unusable as a result of packet loss.

Nowadays, I got the same problem but throwout the day, the internet connection is slow or disconnected all together

I tried the regular restart / plug out and in from the electricity and factory reset to the modem, I also got new cables to replace the old ones. all didn’t help.

It come to the point the the internet is unusable.

(To send this post I had to connect my laptop to my phone… which is also from Vodafone, so that wasn’t easy as well…)

Is there something you can check from your side?

Hello Dejablue79,

"house distribution system = the plug the modem connected to?

If the technician does not arrive at the agreed time, or if the fault is in your own house wiring = so if the technician will not come or if the problem with the wiring, the previous technician handel with, I'm paying for it?"

the house system is all the wiring in the house, the amplifier, the house entrance where the cable arrives from the street and accordingly the power supply for it. There the technician needs the access.

Please have a look at this article. Here the service fee is explained.

Best regards Fred

I live in an apartment, so I'm not really sure how am I responsible for something outside my door.

also, why didn't the previous technician checked it?

in any case, no Covid here.

is there something specific I'm waiting for?

the sad irony in all of it is that Im responsible for the Security and availability for one of Vodafone's systems...

Hi,

does the technician have access to the basement? This is where our house system is usually located (gray box).

I can open the basement but I have no idea where is your box.

(and also, there were a couple of technicians here, why didn't they checked it?)

When can I expect the technician to come?

ok, so now that it is confirmed that its a problem with Vodafone (surprise surprise) and that to fix it will take about 2-4 weeks, am I still going to pay the full amount for no service?

that will be more than 2 months that my internet is disconnecting every few minutes (not even speaking about the slow speed)

is there something that can be done?

For an ISP and ISP support you really need to work on your communication (pun intended)
