Red Internet & Phone 400 Cable speed problem

Hi,

 

First of all sorry for my lack of German. I am a new customer who recently bought Red Internet & Phone 400 Cable plan. The model of my modem is CH7466CE and its firmware version is 4.50.18.16

 

I have ran some speedtests right after I installed the modem and connected my PC, and according to the results (both Vodafone speedtest and others) my speed is about 80 Mbit/s with LAN cable connected and about 65 Mbit/s on WLAN. The leaflet I received shows that I am supposed to get minimum of 160 Mbit/s and optimally about 360 Mbit/s.

 

What can I do to improve the speed of the connection? Have I possibly skipped a step during installation? I'd really appreciate any help.

Wow you lucky one Smiley (überglücklich) 80 Mbit/s!!! 

I have Cable 200 and since March problems with the Speed. Actually i have a Speed of 1-2 Mbit/s! 

Updating various Gamelaunchers takes hours....

 

Answer from the support: They work on the issue and it will take until end of June maybe July....

I´m really frustrated and screwed up, paying for something, what doesn´t work properly.

There are multiple possibilities why your internet is slower than expected:

- The first might be an issue with the signal at your router - please post a screenshot from the signal values of your router (they contain all the frequencies, signal strength values, signal to noise (SNR) values and error counters).

- The second might be an issue with the aggregation of all lines in your neighbourhood - if too many people are using the cable internet at the same time, the speed may drop [usually only at the evening when all people are coming home] -- you might see that you can get the full speed in the night and in the morning if most people are sleeping and/or at work.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it could have been due to peak hours but I ran the tests again about 06:30 in the morning before going to work and the results were worse. So I don't think this would be the reason.

Could you please check the cable connections again? What speeds is your network card designed for? What kind of network cable do you use? Your connection does not show any disturbances or workloads.
