Problems with My Internet Line & TV - Many Packet Loss & Broken TV Image

Hallo, 

In the past 2 weeks I have many issues with my Cable Internet line, as well as my Cable TV reception (I guess these problems are related): 

I have many packet loss on my Internet line, so I'm not able to conduct online meetings. 

In addition, I have issues with the TV reception, especialy with CNN HD channel (it's worse during night time). The picture disappears for a few seconds, the audio gets cut off, etc. 

Can you please check my line?

we here in the forum have done nothing. But the technology certainly did. Otherwise it would not look like this. Nice that it runs again without problems 🙂

what speeds do you achieve and can you please make a ping plotter?

 

Because currently your connection looks quite good.

Yes, the speed is fine (close to 50/5 Mbps, ping to Vodafone's test server in Frankfurt is ~20 ms), but the line isn't stable. 

Please see the below ping stats: 

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
Packets: Sent = 8915, Received = 8492, Lost = 423 (4% loss)

This suggets that there's an interference on the line (which I have in the last week or so, everytime that I'm having a video call). 

Since there are also problems with the cable TV live reception on an HD channel (CNN HD), I guess these problems are related. 

FYI, the TV problems mostly occur during night time, so perhaps it's related to cold temperatures or increased humidity.

I have issues with the Internet all the time, but as I wrote, TV reception problems occur mostly during the night. 

Until 1-2 weeks ago, I didn't have any issues with my Internet, nor TV.

can you please send us a screenshot of the ping plotter?

 

Your connection is completely inconspicuous and looks great. At the moment we can't understand the problem.

Hi Martin, 

 

I attached 2 screenshots (although I'm not sure what's their purpose). 

I tested it with 2 different PCs (both connected with a cable), & got the same results, so it's not a PC issue. 

Again, the fact that the TV reception is also bad, shows there's an issue with the line.

Hey SnirG,

 

this are only normal tests for the ping. Please use a tracroute or the tool "pingplotter".

We want to see where the losses are coming from. Smiley (fröhlich)

I'm not sure if you did anything, but since today I don't have any packet loss! 

I didn't reboot the modem/router, so I don't know what have changed. 

If the problem returns, I'll send you the output from traceroute/PingPlotter/WinMTR
