Urgent: Duplicate Vodafone contract due to misleading consultant advice

Hi,

I've been a customer with my current number since May 2023 (and since November 2021 with an old number that got cancelled due to another ISP scam).

On July 2025 we received in our apartment an authorized third party consultant that came to offer a contract with a reduced price. The condition was that it had to be a new contract. Since I was already a customer, he asked for my number, checked it in his tablet and confirmed that I already was past the 2 years of tenure which meant I could cancel the contract without problems. Afterwards, he will request a new contract under my wife's name so we could have the new tariff.

We proceed as advised: requested a new contract for my wife, cancelled my ongoing contract and a couple of days later we received the new router and I returned the one tied to my contract.

So far so good. Until I received the cancellation confirmation where it said the contract will end on June 2027. I immediately sent an email to the consultant without response.

Then i received the september invoice. I sent the consultant an SMS asking how many more invoice should I pay of my cancelled contract. No answer again.

October came, with a new invoice, to which I called him twice and he searched for my customer number again and said to me that I made a change in the contract in June 2025. I searched in my emails and at that time I accepted a price reduction offer I got by post, directly from Vodafone. He told me that I didn't tell him that when he came to my apartment and nothing can be done now, which is not entirely true because he asked me how much I was paying and I told him both prices, before and after June.

So I'm now stuck with 2 contracts, all because the authorised consultant have not given me proper advice, plus he told me over the phone that he couldn't see the contract change in June.

I'd like to have someone from Vodafone explain to me what do to now since I don't need nor want two cable contracts, especially after being tricked to do this.

A change in a contract restarts the 24 month minimum running time, that should have been stated at the confirmation of the change. Now you wanted to pay less than the already reduced price (which normally should not even be possible because within the same household you don‘t qualify for new customer conditions in the first 3 months after cancelling a contract). That together with that „consultant“ making his money by selling new contracts (which much too often leads to bad or misleading informations) put you in this situation. You can now only ask Vodafone for a gesture of goodwill, maybe the will terminate the cheaper contract. Do this via WhatsApp (support in English is available there), from the bot you repeatedly request a Kundenberater until you get forwarded to a human agent. Then answers can take time, this is no live chat and requests are worked on in chronological order.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I will reach out customer support through Whatsapp as suggested, it fits my needs with the language and the timing of answer.

And I definitely would expect some gesture of goodwill since they authorise consultants that either don't have the proper training or simply don't care.

Oh, they do care. About their own income. A really sad situation which Vodafone again and again promisses to fix- alone nothing ever changes. And other providers do the same.

So far the WhatsApp Support has proven to be useless.

The first agent told me to submit my request through a form that, when finalising, gives error at submission.

The second agent seems like it's not able to read the whole chat history and neither understand what I'm saying as he/she keeps saying I have only one contract. Huge lack of comprehension.

Which form?

Try to not use paragraphs.

Oh my. In my attempt to be as clear as possible, I did write a message with paragraphs. I never thought that in 2025 forms will be so 1990s, so I didn't try to remove them.
