We ordered the GigaTV app last year because our Internet provider cannot send TV to our apartment.
It never worked, so finally we got rid of it by sending a snail mail to Vodafone early June.
Suddenly out of the blue, Vodafone sends us "Ihre neue Gerät".
What Gerät? We want nothing from them, of course we don't pick it up, so it is returned by the post office.
We get more emails nagging about this, so call them to ask what it's all about.
Now they claim we have a new internet contract, the "Red Internet 400".
400 MB/sec is a 10-person office or large café level service, why on Earth would we use that to play youtube and google museums in Berlin?? (we already have 16 mbps from 1&1 for this!)
But you can NOT end a contract online.
And you can NOT end a contract by phone.
And you can NOT end a contract in the shop.
You can ONLY terminate a contract by snail mail. To an Internet and phone company.
So that we do. Again.
Now they email back and say that we cannot terminate the contract because the return period has passed.
WHAT CONTRACT?? We never placed any order!!
The phone support told us that this thing was started on June 26 by phone.
We were not even in town on that date, nobody we know made any phone call to them.
* Is this a prank?
* Did someone enter the wrong customer number by mistake when an order was placed?
* Is this an outright scam because we are easy marks?
(we did pay for GigaTV for nearly a year without using it, after all)
Do we have to close our bank account and open a new one just to get away from these shady types?
Your customer phone service is less than helpful here.

Hi ScamVictim,
the contract has now been revoked. That should close the case.

today we got a new bill for the account.
Is this an error from some automatic system?
I haven't logged in to see the bill, not sure about password etc, don't remember that we have ever logged in on this account...
Danke,
/S.V

Hi ScamVictim,
that's the final bill. It shows a credit balance. You'll get a refund.
