Cancelling Contract - contract end date and general assistance

Hi, 

I have a cable contract with vodaphone for internet. I filled out the online form to end the contract (3 months prior to the date that I will move back to Canada). Recently I recieved two letters in the mail. One of them notes the contract end dates as Nov 28th, which is 3 months after I leave the country. What is the reason for being charged the additional 3 months? Is this normal?

In the second letter there is a telephone number that I am supposed to call but unfortuneately I do not speak much German. Vodaphone tried to call me a few times as well and I just couldn't understand what the individuals were saying. Does anyone know if there is any way to get this info from someone online?

Yes, this is correct. Time starting is the day, you leave germany.

the three-month deadline is correct. It begins on the day of the move and is regulated by law.
