Hello,

 

Quite often (every other day) the download speed will go below 10-15 Mbit/s (from 100 Mbit/s) or there will be no internet at all. Usually restarting the router from the settings (192.168.0.1) would fix the problems. But sometimes 192.168.0.1 is not even accessible and a hard reboot (power off) is required.

 

Does the router need replacement or a firmware update would remedy these issues? The current firmware version is AR01.01.117.01_091718_70.PC20.10, which seems to be almost 2 years old.

Hello zverock,

 

the signal looks good so far. Please do a speedtest while using a direct ethernet connection and send the result with the time stamp. Have you tried making a factory reset?

I cannot do an ethernet connection speedtest at the moment as we have just ultrabooks here and they don't have ethernet ports (or adapters). The lower speed and no internet problems occur almost every other day and apply to all devices (laptops, phones, tablets) regadless of the distance to the router. After a soft or hard restart everything is back to normal like it is now.

 

I haven't tried a factory reset. I'm pretty sure it's a firmware issue as a hard reboot is required sometimes. How can we get the latest firmware?

Had to do a hard reboot again about 48 hours after the last restart.
