I write this message to assist others with their attempts to cancel / terminate their Vodafone contracts.

 

I am an English speaker with limited understanding of spoken German so calling was impossible. I apologize for not becoming more proficient. All I will say is COVID.

 

In May 2022, on the Vodafone website, I cancelled my contract… Or so I thought. Three weeks later, having received no response, I went back to the website and discovered another way to cancel. I did so, or so I thought. Three weeks later, with no reply, I discovered this Forum.

 

The solution to 6 weeks of trying to cancel came from this forum. I found a link in “Moving Abroad – Leaving Germany”,

“As a cable customer you can inform us of your move here using this form.” i.e.: http://vod.af/umzugemelden .

On the same day I sent it, I received a Cancellation Confirmation E-Mail with the Cancellation Confirmation Letter attached!

 

To save everyone who is looking some time, use this link to cancel a contract if you are moving abroad: http://vod.af/umzugemelden

 

The Cancellation Confirmation Letter states that the equipment you have must be sent back, preferably by DHL. A link is given that does not work. I found the correct link: https://kabel.vodafone.de/retoure?desktop=1
