Hi,
I am not able o access a lot of wesites from Kabel Deutschland cable connection - including this forum wesite, twitter and many more. However, the internet isn't completely down. This is oing on for a few days now. I have already power cycled the cable gateway a few times. My cable gateway is FAST5460 if that could be a factor. I saw some hints about changing DNS server, but I can't find any way to do that in the gateway. Setting DNS on the Ubuntu laptop to 8.8.8.8 didn't help.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
This is resolved now. I didn't need to reset, just power cycling was enough. Looks like the Vodafone staff did some magic to fix this.
Thanks,
Tanmay

Hello Tanmay,
we had trouble with non accessible websites in the last few days, but that should be fixed now. If it isn't for you, please send screenshots from Pingplotter tests to the websites that are not working.
Kind regards,
Claudia

Hi Claudia,
Unfortunately I can't even access Pingplotter. If there is some other method by which I can give you more data, I could give a try.
BTW, could this be related IPv6 vs IPv4? I accidently ran into https://ipv6.watch/ and found that most (yes, not all) of the websites listed there as IPv6 supported were accessible. I couldn't access any of the websites listed there as not supporting IPv6 aren't accessible to me. This includes amazon and apple as well.
Thanks,
Tanmay

Hello Tanmay,
then please use a traceroute.
Let me get this right: all IPv4 addresses don't work and all IPv6 addresses are fine?
Best regards

Hi,
When I use traceroute, it says "unknown host" for the websites I can't access. Also, for websites like google that I can access, I get different results for traceroute and traceroute6. traceroute6 can reach all the way to google whereas, traceroute can't go out and prints just stars (*).
About all IPv4 and IPv6 accessibility: I can't say all, but the most. The websites/services I can access are: all google stuff, whatsapp, facebook, archlinux.org, bing. What I can't access is: twitter, amazon, stackoverflow.com, espncricinfo.com.
Thanks,
Tanmay

Hello Tanmay,
please perform a factory reset of the router. After that the error should be fixed.
Best regards

Hello Tanmay,
I'm glad it's back on track. Then I close here. If something should happen again, you know where to find us.
Love greetings
