Hi
I've changed my tariff from Red 400 Kable to Red 1000 Kable through the webpage and everything went just fine besides I can't really reach 1000mbps.
I've tried everything, even changing ethernet cables to good quality CAT8 ones.
Checking speedtest.net and fast.com it rarelly exceeds 600mbps. Most of the time it's way lower than that.
Vodafone speedtest tells me that I'm receiving more than 1000mbps on the router, apparently, but that my internal connection is bottlenecking at less than that, thus the lower speed.
My router is currently configured on bridge mode with an Asus RT-AC86U acting as a router for the home. It's a fast router with more than enought for gigabit connections. My internal file transfer speed is on gigabit standards, so it shouldn't be a problem.
I've tried to run a cable from vodafone router directly to my PC just to be sure, and indeed the problem persists with lower than ideal speeds. So I can conclude that the kable router may be the culprit.
Do I need a different vodafone kable router to achieve gigabit speeds? Why is this happening? Is there some problem with the network on the region I'm currently based?
Thank you.

Hello bferrari,
the router you have is capable of the Gigabit speed. Please check the tips in our Fit für Gigabit thread for optimising your tests.
Kind regards

Hi Claudia,
I've checked out everything on that thread and the issue is still present, also tried at different times of the day.
It never reaches nowhere close to 1000mbps on the tests. Sometimes it goes to ~800mbps but it then fall back to normal between 400-500mbps.
All my hardware exceeds expectations for this kind of connection, there's no bottleneck. Connecting my machine direcly to the cable modem on bridge mode presents the same kinds of results.
Kind regards
Brenno

Hello bferrari,
which speed do you reach in the upload?
Does it also come to disconnects ?
Best regards, Martin
