Hello there friendly stranger,
I shall leave Germany in 5 months but my contract will renew in 1 month. How can I prevent renewal? I cant seem to find the instructions to get to the Abmeldungen website page. Thank you.

The renewal can only be prevented by sending a cancellation before the notice period (mostly 3 months for contracts with an initial term of 24 months) has expired. So in case you didn't send a cancellation request in time, you won't be able to stop the automatic extension right now.
The next problem is: For mobile phone contracts, there is no such thing as a premature cancellation in case you leave Germany - as the contractually agreed services can still be granted to the contractually agreed prices, even abroad. This obviously includes Roaming fees...
So you'd be then able to end the contract at the end of the auto-extension period next year if you send your cancellation notice now.

Thanks for the reply. Thats unfortunate as I shall be moving back to Asia where Vodafone is non-existent and roaming charges will be exorbitant.
How can I check the last date of automatic extension? This is because my wife's sub-contract was started in 14 November and I should be still be able to cancel it. Thank you.

In case of an end of the term on 14th November, your cancellation request should be made immediately to not let the notice period pass. The only way right now (as postal services won't be able to deliver it in time) would be to use the contract form - because otherwise your cancellation request will be received too late (and only the date of receiving the cancellation request counts, not the date that you send your request!).

Could you please provide some instructions/link to get to the contract form? We've tried calling up a couple of time and have been led down to the 1212 line a couple of times but so far nothing fruitful has happened. Last answer was "please visit a store"

Okay, it seems we are at a loss. I just double checked her activation-date 9th Nov 2018. This means we are past the date. Is there anything else we can do? Would visiting the store help?
