instabile Internetverbindung (KABEL)

For the last 2 weeks, my home kabel internet is unstable. The signals drop or disonnects after ever few mintutes.

my customer number is xxxxxxxx My vodafone router is 250k and is almost new. I wonder if a vodafone expert could look into this.

I tried to call 0800-5266625 (Vodafone Kabel Deutschland) . But this service is available onlyin German. I do not speak german, so it is almost impobssible for me to go through all these questions before i get to talk to some technician.

Is there any thing you can do about it?

Hast du eine Fritzbox und bekommst nicht 1Gbit/s Speed, prüfe deine LAN Geschwindigkeit, schaue dir dieses Video an.

Probleme am Anschluß können nur unter Verwendung einer LAN Verbindung beurteilt werden.

Speedtest: 5 (fünf) Speedtests von speedtest.net als multiuser mit LAN.

5 (fünf) Speedtests von speedtest.net als singeluser mit LAN.

Multimode baut 4 Verbindungen zum Speedserver auf, Singlemode nur eine.

Nach den Speedtest liegen die Ergebnisse unter "Results" auf der Website vor.

Nur die "Results" aus den 10 (zehn) Speedtests im Singel- sowie Multimode sind von Interesse.

Ein einzelner Speedtest ist nicht aussagekräftig!

Erklärung unter Background, ganz unten.

Wenn es dir nicht zuviel Mühe bereitet, führe diesen Test durch und poste den graphischen Verlauf, Beispiel und Erklärung ganz unten.

Sind die 10 (zehn) Speedtests erfolgt, speichere "Results" als Screenshot und füge es als Foto, 4tes Icon von rechts, ein. Es können mehere Fotos eingefügt werden.

Sofern es vom Router Logs wie "Utopia" gibt, bitte posten.

Um ein IPv6 Problem auszuschließen führe diesen Test durch, bitte posten.

Daher abweichend vom VF Fragebogen, führe einen MTR Test - für MacUser hier -, jeweils für IPv4 und IPv6 für für das Ziel heise.de für 30 Minuten aus. Die Ergebnisse bitte posten.

Falls eine graphische Darstellung erwünscht ist.

Der von VF empfohlende Pingplotter ist eine 14 tägige Test Version und kann max. 10 Minuten aufzeichen. Die Vollversion kostet $40.

Ich empfehle den kostenlosen pingtracer für M$ User, zip Datei downloaden, entpacken und starten. Es können Langzeittrends erstellt werden, mit der Taste „Bild ⬇“ können alte Daten abgerufen werden.

Falls du einen nachgelagerten Router in Betrieb hast, muß dein VF Router den Bridge Mode aktiviert haben. Falls nicht, schließe deinen PC an deinem VF Router an. Stichwort Doppel Nat

Ein wenig "Background" warum 5 Speedtests

Abweichende Speedtests im singlemode zum multimode geben Aufschluss über das OFDMA Verhalten. Normalerweise sollten beide Tsets im Upstream gleich sein.

Hier ein Beispiel wenn der OFDMA nicht funktioniert.

Mit Iperf über 900sek. mit einer Verbindung und aktiven OFDMA schaut es so aus:

Es gibt im OFDMA Mode immer wieder lichte Momente und diese werden oft beim standard Test erwischt, deshalb auch die 5 (fünf) Tests. So wie im Magenta Test sollte es auch nicht ausschauen.

Wenn es dir nicht zuviel Mühe bereitet, führe diesen Test durch und poste den grahischen Verlauf.

It looks like your upload is disturbed, recognizable by the difference between single- and multi-mode. Usually this is the case when the OFDMA channel is active and not working properly or the levels in the upstream are out of the standard.

Had I overlooked your Docsis levels?

The Pingtracer has some optical quirks, but it records more than 10 minutes.
Enter heise.de as the destination and leave the settings as in my first post. With the "Screen down" button you can view the history.

Your connection must have an IPv6 address. VF must solve this.

Please also post ipconfig from console/terminal

Just an update, the internet wifi has now become terribly bad, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. And this thing keeps going on the whole day. Even when now when i am trying to write this message, the internet disconnected twice, although it is 23:00 hour when internet traffic would be much lower.

I am unable to appreciate why it is so difficult for vodafone to figure out the problem and fix it even though almost 2 weeks. have passed since i reported the problem.

The problem is now bad to worse. We do not have consistent internet connection for more than 10 minutes (on average). It keeps disconnecting and then reconncting. Even if interenet is connected, the signal is ver weak. Sometimes restarting router helps a little bit but then it goes back to the same problem.

In my building there are many other apartments with telecom connection. Nobody has this so called 'interference' problem. I am really surpreised why only vodafone is having this and noboday know how to fix it.

Trust me, if i will tell this to my people in Australia and New Zealand as how i am struggling to get a consistent internet for more than 2 weeks, they would only laugh on us.

None of the people in the neiborhood with telecom or network other than vodafone has any problem. IT IS only vodafone.

In the last many weeks since this trobuble started, i never saw any vodafone technician in the area nor observed any change in the network status that would indicate that somebody is troubleshooting. I am very much convinced that NOBODY is working to fix the problem at all, because in general vodafone does not care. My 4 years experience with vodafone tells that vodafone does not have appropriate techical knowhow, and expertise to provide maintenance services. If telecom takes 1 day to fix some technical problem, vodafone takes one month to fix the same.

I have already lost lots of produtive hours and sustained losses. For now i have stopped vodafone monthly payment at least for one month. If vodafone can not fix network by this Saturday i.e. 2.04.2022, PLEASE CANCEL MY CONTRACT. i can not keep going like. Vodafone high-ups should realize and understand that they are doing business in 21 century, they are not running a shop in 19th centruy.

Hey @Basit,

im sorry for that 😞 My colleagues are still working on that case, sometimes it isnt needed that a technician fix something on your site, most things get fixed from range .. , if that didnt work, a technician have to check that on your area.

So, if we can fix that fast enough and you want still to cancel the contract you can contact the colleagues of the complaintsmanagement via letter.

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, we can't speed things up because there are always problems with access to individual house systems when it comes to isolating the interference signal. That's why it's dragging on.

On the last Saturday, a vodafone technician showed up and spent an hour on the vodafone boxes that are installed in the vonovia building (there are approximately 50 household). After he left, the internet came back but the signal was extremely weak. It looks like from his side he did his job, because now it is not totally dead, but most of the time it is unusable. specially it is hard to do zoom or skype meeting. I appreciate if you could check wether they have figured out the problem and trying to improve it or this is what maximum we vodafone customers can get.
