Verbindungsabbrüche

Seit ein paar Wochen habe ich Verbindungsabbrüche. Fliege desöfteren mal aus Spielen raus.

Dachte zunächst das läge an den Spieleservern und/oder Steam, nachdem sich das aber in letzter Zeit gehäuft hat und mir auch anderweitig aufgefallen ist, z.B. bei Surfen, habe ich mal pings mitlaufen lassen.

Während den Verbindungsabbrüchen äussert sich das so:

Die Verbindungsabbrüche dauern wenige Sekunden bis mehrere Minuten. Geschwindigkeitsprobleme habe ich dagegen nicht.

Läuft über eine Vodafone Station im Bridge-Mode. Lief jetzt eigentlich fast 2 Jahre problemlos.

Hallo FinalFantasy,

hier bist Du im richtigen Bereich gelandet. Kannst Du bitte noch ein paar Fakten ergänzen: Kabel - Alles rund um Störungsmeldungen?

Stelle gern auch einen Test per Tracert oder Pingplotter mit dazu. Bei einem einfachen Ping sieht man nicht, wo es zu einem eventuellen Fehler kommt.

Hi,

Ich habe die Vodafone Station im Bridge Mode hinter einem OpenWRT-Router, PLZ-Bereich ist 904xx. Läuft alles über LAN-Kabel.

Silverster bis Sonntag wieder Probleme. Die Werktage über keine Probleme. Jetzt seit ca. 17 Uhr wieder Timeouts (morgen ist Feiertag)... Frequenz ansteigend. Das ist jetzt ziemlich sicher bis 22 Uhr kaum benutzbar und dann wirds langsam wieder besser.

Traceroute ist zu langsam, das müsste genau dann laufen, wenn die Verbindung gerade mal weg ist. Die Geschwindigkeit ist normal. Mein Router schafft nur ca. 900Mbit/s, die erreiche ich aber auch jetzt im Moment.

Gibts sowas wie Pingplotter auch für Linux?

Nachdem ich jetzt nochmal das Modem neugestartet hatte, sind mir zumindest keine Verbindungsabbrüche mehr aufgefallen. Evtl. hat dann tatsächlich nur das Modem eine Macke.

Ein Bekannter hat mir eben berichtet, das er die gleiche Vodafone Station hat und damit seit ca. Ende November auch die gleichen Probleme mit der selben "Lösung": Neustarten alle 2-3 Tage, Werksreset hat das bei ihm auch nicht geändert.

Und in etwa in dem Zeitraum soll wohl die Firmware von V2.x auf V3.x upgedatet worden sein....

Mir ist auch aufgefallen, das das Webinterface in dem Zeitraum wo ich auch Aussetzer hatte sehr sehr SEHR langsam war (und sogar Fehler, während die Internetverbindung mal ganz weg war). Nachdem ich die Box neugestartet hatte, war es wieder deutlich flotter (wobei man es nicht wirklich schnell nennen kann).

Nachdem ich das Modem gestern neu gestartet habe, läuft es ja jetzt wieder. Gestern habe ich zuvor zwar einen Ping mitlaufen lassen, die Ausgaben aber nicht gespeichert.

Die Aussetzer gestern waren deutlich weniger häufig und wesentlich kürzer, aber dennoch schon störend bemerkbar.

Grob hatte ich die Aussetzer im Ping zwischen 11 und 12 Uhr gesehen und irgendwann zwischen 12 und 13 Uhr etwa dann das Modem neugestartet.

Immer Router neustarten ist übertrieben ausgedrückt, es hat jetzt halt zweimal geholfen.

Die Pings und Traceroutes haben doch schon gezeigt, das die Verbindung im Problemfall am Modem stecken bleibt.

Nein, ich boote nicht extra Windows um eine Trial von PingPlotter zu nutzen.

Nicht-Bridgemode teste ich nicht, weil selbst wenn es helfen würde, kommt nicht-Bridge-Mode für mich nicht in Frage.

Es gibt bereits etliche Beiträge hier mit ganz ähnlichen Problemen und wie ich bereits geschrieben habe, habe ich auch aus anderen Quellen mehrfach von Problemen mit diesem Router gelesen, komischerweise alle seit Ende November/Anfang Dezember, was wohl mit einem Firmwareupdate zusammenfällt. Und aus unterschiedlichen Regionen, scheint also kein Kabelsegmentproblem zu sein.

Liest hier eigentlich jemand was ich schreibe?

Das dumme daran ist, selbst wenn ich ein neues Gerät kriegen würde, hat das mit der aktuellen Firmware dann ja wahrscheinlich die selben Probleme.

Läuft jetzt schon wieder seit 3 Tagen, bin mal gespannt ob es demnächst wieder losgeht.

Falls es Traffic- statt Zeitabhängig ist, dürfte es jetzt länger laufen, da kein Urlaub mehr und damit die Internetnutzung wieder deutlich weniger.

sollte das Problem weiterhin auftreten, können wir gern ein Downgrade versuchen. Aktuell steht keine neues Update durch den Hersteller zur Verfügung. Das Modem ist aktuell 5 Tage und 3 Stunden ohne Unterbrechung zum CMTS verbunden.

Bisher keine weiteren derartigen Verbindungsabbrüche, allerdings war vor ein paar Minuten die Verbindung mal ein paar Minuten lang weg. Laut Webinterface hat das Modem rebootet, denn die Uptime ist jetzt wieder bei wenigen Minuten. Damit werden die Probleme wohl so schnell auch erstmal nicht wieder auftreten.
Das diese Vodafone Station in letzter Zeit öfter mal spontan neustartet, wurde hier ja auch schon mehrfach berichtet.

Das es an dem Firmwareupdate liegen könnte, ist nur eine Vermutung, weil ich anderswo gelesen habe, das das wohl gegen Ende November/Anfang Dezember ausgerollt wurde und das damit auffällig mit dem Zeitraum zusammenfällt, indem bei mir diese Ausfälle auftraten. Vielleicht könntet ihr das ja erstmal bestätigen, das in diesem Zeitraum tatsächlich dieses Update ausgerollt wurde?

Habt ihr denn keine Statistiken zu Fehlermeldungen mit bestimmten Geräten, Firmwareversionen und Zeitpunkt? Das müsste doch auffallen.

wenn die Folgebereiche einen starken Anstieg an Kundenmeldungen zu einem bestimmten Problem feststellen, prüfen sie, ob es einen Zusammenhang mit dem Routermodell und der Firmware gibt. Aktuell ist dazu nichts bekannt.

Wie zu sehen... jeder Ausfall wieder ziemlich genau 1min und es tendiert schon wieder zu "alle 5 Minuten".

Uptime vom Modem ist jetzt bei 9 Tage, 5 Stunden.

(Also hat das Modem wohl am etwa 24.01 auch nochmal einen "ungeplanten" Reboot gemacht).

Webinterface vom Modem ist auch wieder *piep*langsam. Dauert schon fast eine Minute bis überhaupt die Loginseite lädt, ist also wirkliche SEHR langsam.

Ich lasse jetzt mit Log noch ein bisschen laufen, aber wenn das jetzt wieder öfter vorkommt, werde ich das Modem demnächst wieder neustarten, weil so ist der Internetzugang halbwegs unbrauchbar.

Kann man das denn dann vielleicht mal an die Technik weiterleiten, oder an jemanden der auch irgendwas tun kann und nicht nur die Standardfragen wiederholt? Oder wie lang müssen wir hier jetzt noch im Kreis rumeiern?

Und während ich das Log entsprechend gekürzt und zusammengefasst habe, ging es auch genauso weiter. Seit ich nachhause kam und ich Aussetzer bemerkt habe, seit nun über DREI STUNDEN!

Eine gewisse Regelmäßigkeit ist nicht zu übersehen und es ist ja jetzt nun auch nicht das erstemal!

Ich reboote jetzt das Modem (erstmal nur Softreboot) und dann sind die Aussetzer wohl wieder urplötzlich weg.

So, vor über 2 Stunden das Modem rebootet und ab exakt da, "automagisch" KEIN EINZIGER Aussetzer mehr. KOMISCH!?

Ich kann ja leider nicht beweisen, das es an einem Firmwareupdate liegt, oder ob irgendein Hardwareteil an genau meinem Modem mittlerweile schlapp gemacht hat, aber ist es denn jetzt endlich glaubwürdig, das das Modem die Quelle des Problems ist?

Wenn es mein Gerät wäre, würde ich ja mal draufgucken, ob da irgendwie der RAM vollläuft, oder ob da irgendwie alle ~5 Minuten ein Cron-Job anläuft der nach einiger Laufzeit irgendwie Amok läuft oder sonstwas, läuft ja offensichtlich auch nur ein BSD drauf und OpenSSH ist darauf ja auch installiert. Aber wie so Providergeräte üblicherweise verschlossen sind, kann ich halt leider nichts machen und noch nichtmal irgendwas nachgucken.

Kann man jetzt allmählich mal irgendwas tun?

Krieg ich vielleicht mal ein neues Gerät in der Hoffnung das Gerät einfach nur eine Macke hat und das Problem damit behoben wäre? Wenn nicht melde ich mich halt in 3-4 Wochen wieder.

Oder dann tatsächlich mal ein Firmwaredowngrade probieren?

Da ich keine Ahnung habe, was genau zu dem Problem führt (ausser das es offensichtlich am Modem selbst liegt) und ich ausser dem Webinterface keinen weiteren Zugriff auf das Gerät habe und es offensichtlich nur nach unregelmäßigen Uptimes auftritt, kann man das Problem halt nicht als behoben klassifizieren, nur weil es mal 2-3 Tage wieder lief. Aber nachdem das Modem beinahe 2 Jahre das Problem nicht gezeigt hat, muss sich irgendwas geändert haben.

Aber kann man jetzt allmählich mal irgendwie reagieren, ausser zum 50sten mal die dämlichen 13th Level-Support-DAU-Abwimmel-Standard-Antworten zu geben?

Soll ich das Gerät erst Hacken, damit ich euch beweisen kann, das das Gerät irgendwie Mist baut? Kann ich euch die dafür aufgewendete Zeit dann wenigstens in Rechnung stellen? Wobei die bisher von mir aufgewendete Zeit für die Fehleranalyse wohl schon mehr als 10 neue Modems übersteigt. Es ist eigentlich EUER Job das Problem zu fixen, nicht meiner!
