Problem to connect new Fritzbox

Hello,

I bought a Fritzbox 6490 Cable on ebay and when I tried to connect kabel at the activation website from Vodafone, it said that my rooter is already registered... But it makes no sense, I have the rooter at my house and I'm trying to connect a different internet to it and it doesn't allow me.

What should I do? My german is not so good so I couldn't use the telephone support and on whatsapp the service was useless.

If article-nr of your 6490 ist different to 20002778 you have failed.

Only article-nr above works as free fritzbox.

Maybe seller did not deactivate 6490 correct. In this case you should contact him to do so.

I don't understand. I have a rooter with me, why wouldn't it work?

Hello, I just checked and it is a different number.

What should I do then? Because it means that this rooter is useless and it belongs to vodafone.

Contact the seller and demand your money back. He had no right to sell a device he never owned. If he doesn't play nice you could try to contact the eBay Buyers Protection - though no promise about them doing anything, depending on the item description.
