I've been researching a lot online and finding that many people have issues with their GigaCubes.

I hope someone can help give me advice or hopefully someone in the future sees this so they can stay away.

I went to a Vodafone store to set up my internet at home and the salesperson recommended I get a GigaCube with a FamilyCard M plan because they were running a special. 🚩 First issue I realized that everyone should know: the Vodafone shops are completely different from Vodafone online. If you buy anything from the store, the online support will abandon you and tell you to work it out with the store. 🚩

The GigaCube connection is terrible, I have been tracking my connection stats and they suck (see screenshot below).

I tried talking to Vodafone online support and they said, they can't do anything to help me because this GigaCube and FamilyCard Tariff is "bad" in their own words! It's crazy to me that they admitted themself that this should not be sold as there is no guarantee connections are reliable.

Anyway, I tried to get out of my contract because I would like to maybe sign up for DSL with Vodafone and they wouldn't allow it stating, "extraordinary termination due to lack of network coverage is not sufficient to get out of the contract" even though I feel this is a SCAM and that Vodafone is basically breaching contract by not providing service, they can default to the fact that network coverage is not guaranteed, etc.

I'm hoping when I go to the store, I can get the actual GigaCube Tariff SIM card that is supposed to work with the GigaCube but let's see if that is even possible since I have been trapped in this contract.
And for future reference, someone told me reaching out to the (Bundesnetzagentur) and filing a consumer claim could help.

Nobody guarantees you coverage at all places in Germany - thus any issue caused by limited coverage will not constitute any right to prematurely cancel the contract or have any other rights regarding to this issue, especially if the limited coverage could've been known to you before signing the contract.

And the other thing: Contracts signed in a store (no matter if it is Vodafone or any other business!) are final - there is no right to withdraw in that case. Only contracts made by telecommunications methods (e.g. telephone / email / internet / fax / ...) -or- that are made at yoru home have to have a withdrawal right by law, but not contracts signed in a store. There are also other exceptions for this where the withdrawal rights also don't apply, but that's the general overview.

Hello,

yes, the stores are franchise stores for Vodafone, but they are not Vodafone.

technical support should be given via Hotline. But all questions belonging the contract can only given at the store.

Because of the fact, that you underwrite your contract and can see the AGB you dont have a 14 day right of withdraw. This is something you only have if you order online or at the hotline.

How good or bad the connection at your home is, is something, nobody can know. It depends on many circumstances.

So, it is not scam, but for your situation maybe not the best solution.

Regards Ines
