How can I find out if my old prepaid number was assigned to a new customer? I live in Chile and I haven't recharged it for 3 years, but all this time I have been using the whatsapp linked to that number. A week ago I lost access to whatsapp because someone else linked it to their phone. If it is a new legitimate owner, it is very likely that she/he will receive several messages directed to me. If it is someone who illegitimately gained access and is trying to perpetrate a scam, I need to know.

Hi @Vale_Rau,

Provided that the number has given to a new customer by VF in a legal way, there isn't any way to find out that. That is restricted by data protection. Nobody will you tell you the data (name etc.) of the new customer.

VF lock SIM-cards when customers don't use the prepaid number active. With "active" means that you have to send a SMS or make an outgoing call at least all two months.

Otherwise when you are the owner furthermore than you should contact VF directly.

I wrote to the person who now has my whatsapp number. It seems that everything is legal. Unfortunately it will be a problem for me, because I have lost my chats, and for her that for a while will receive strange messages from people she doesn't know.
