Hello,

I wish to cancel my subscription as well as giving back all your equipment because I will be moving out of Germany on the 1th of November 2018.

Please send me some information regarding the cancellation of contract, if you wish that it will be in writing and in German please send me details regarding email address for costumer cancellations and I will send you the German version in return to that request email.

Please note that the 3 months period for a premature cancellation according to the telecommunications act starts by the day you move out of Germany or the notice is received by Vodafone - the LATER of the two dates counts.

So no need to hurry - the 3 months period will at first start at 1st of November (and not now) even if you send the notice right now. And according to the telecommunications act, you will need to pay the monthly fee for November, December and January...

The only exception from that rule:

If you can cancel your contract regularly, the contract can be ended to that date if the cancellation is received by Vodafone at the right time (e.g. 3 months before the end of the 2-year-contractual period) - if you move within that 3 months, you only have to pay until the end of your contract and not the whole 3 months (but only if you cancelled regularly before you sent the moving notice).

Ok, and how do I cancel the contract regularly? I am within my first 2 years with vodafone (only been a member last then a year).

For a regular cancellation:

Just write a cancellation letter to Vodafone (in German!) - as long as it reaches Vodafone in time (this usually means at least 3 months before the minimum contractual term ends), Vodafone will end the contract at the end of the minimum contractual term.

But for your situation, there is a special paragraph within the telecommunications act:

You might end your contract if Vodafone is not able to provide you the service you agreed for at your new location (there is no difference between moving inside Germany or moving out of Germany). In this case, the contract can be ended prematurely at the day you move or the day the notification of your movement is received by Vodafone - the later counts. But you have to pay for additional 3 months after moving...

That's why there is no hurry for you to do all the cancellation stuff today if you move on 1st of November. The contract will end at the 1st of November, if you send your notice to Vodafone before - together with a copy of your letter of deregistration ("Abmeldebescheinigung"). Vodafone will then end the contract prematurely to 1st of November, but you have to pay for additional 3 months as the special regulation inside the telecommunications act requires you to.

2) To whic address should I send it? do they have official main address for that or Email will be enough ?

You just need to enter your personal info.
The text under "persönliche Nachricht" can be filled in english, just try to state that you want to cancle the contract early , since you leave germany. The rest will be handled by our colleagues.

Thank you very much for the information.

Problem is, I never got any Kunden- oder Teilnehmerkennwort as you ask on the kontakformular, I understand it needs to be shown on some kind of letter/contract that I got when I registered, but I never recived such a letter, nor had it in my mail box. I only have the welcome letter and other notes with my other details.

Is there a way to have this information sent or Emailed back to me? I am confused and just want to have you guys notified that I am leaving the country and end our communications.

The customer password has been chosen while making the contract.
Its not written down anywhere , but in the initial contract form.

You can change the password either in Mein Vodafone (which is quite tricky, since the whole page is german only) or in a vodafone shop, if you bring your id. This way the employee can legitimate that you are the contract partner.
