I have been researching for more than an hour about how to check my internet usage. I tried çenter.vodafone.de, but it only offers me new plans, no data usage. I also tried to register at the website, it then asks my customer password that I was never provided with.

How can that be possible that in 2019 is so impossible to simple check my data balance?

That is a shame!

I looking for a solution for my pre-paid sim. Thanks.

center.vodafone.de usually should work. But keep in mind that this only works, if you are connected using the mobile network AND NOT if using a wireless network at home!

For checking your balance, internet usage, free contingent (SMS/calls) you can use the app MeinVodafone.

When you use CallYa Flex then you have to use the app CallYa Flex app.
