Sorry for my bad German. Right now I am at beginner level in German language, therefore I have to write in English.

I have just moved to Germany and I have been using kabel Internet for more than 6 years in my origin country. I am a system engineer, so I kindly request that all configuration menu on my DOCSIS 3.1 modem to be enabled in order to setup my home network such as VPN konfiguration, NAT rules and advanced firewall rules.

Right now, there are just simple settings on my modem admin portal which I cannot setup my home network.

Yes, I already have enabled expert mode. Actually, when I first set up the modem, I am sure that I saw VPN and other advanced configurations. However, one day later after the first setup, all options are seems to be gone or hidden from user. Thank you for your support in advance.

I'm afraid you don't have those options because your modem uses DSlite. Could you check that?

Thank you for your answer, but I have checked my modem interface I could not find the information about DSLite.

Could you please tell me where to look at this information? By the way, I have already reset and re-plugged my modem, but the result remains same.

one way could be to check the website wieistmeineip.de, but the result may mean either DSLite or Dualstack. So I can check that if you send me your details. I will need your customer number, date of birth and the full address. Send everything via private message and answer here again.

We have two options here:

1. you switch your router to bridge mode and connect your own external router, then you can run your VPN via IPv4.

2 You can get a fixed IPv4 address from us in a business contract for a small surcharge.

Either way your desired VPN connection will probably only work with a pure IPv4 address, unless the remote peer can also connect via IPv6.

Hallo,

I have tried to put my modem in bridge mode, but first I have been told that to wait one week to disable vodafone hotspot which does not make any sense to me.

Also, I do not want to really put my modem in bridge mode, because in first installation I am certain that VPN and other advanced configurations were there. I kindly request that to revert back my modem at initial state. If it is required to change my connection type from DSLlite to other connection, please do it, because I do not care about the connection type. It has been one month and I am still just requesting my first options that I have on my first day with the modem. As I have written in the first post, I am at senior level with cable modems because I have been using them for more than 6 years with knowing their capabilities.

I had the same issue with a free VPN the other day. There is some information about this on redaktionstest (but is directed to Express VPN issues). Did you already try to reset the device and clean all settings?

Yes, I have reset the modem several times but the issue remains. Cable modems are designed to be controlled remotely by the vendors. And when I unboxed the device and set up for the first use, all of the configurations including VPN and port redirection were in my admin portal. But after a day with connected to internet, all the options are gone on my admin portal. I just want them back but still dont have it.

In order to put my modem into the bridge I also have to wait for one week to enable the bridge in my modem admin portal because by default Vodafone enabled the hotspot feature (wothout my acknowledge). I will try to these option, will let you know about the result in one week.

And for the record, the only options that you offered is not acceptable by me unfortunately. After observing the results, if the problem still continues, I will kindly request another solution method for this.

Hello Serdar_m,

none of these features in the GUI are a part of the contract, so if the bridgemode doesn't help the only options left are the business contract with fixed IP or an own device that matches the EuroDOCSIS 3.0 standard.
