Hello,

I am moving to a student dorm which already has the internet connection.

I want to cancel my contract DSL contract.

Please tell me the process to do this.

There is no general right to prematurely cancel a contract just because there is another internet line available at the new location.

You're bound to the contract as long as it's possible to get the line up and running at your new location. Only if it is impossible to get the line up and running as contractually agreed, you're having a right to cancel prematurely.

The easiest way for this is to inform Vodafone about your move - in case it's impossible to get your line up and running at the new location, your contract will be cancelled - otherwise it'll move to the new location.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a possibility to lower the tariff currently I am paying 44.99 euro per month for Red Internet & Phone 400 Cable. And the available options in "My Vodafone" portal, to change tariffs are more expensive than my current tariff.

As I will not be using this connection, I would like to change my tariff to a minimum but I don't see any cheaper option.

My contract is going to on 16-Jan-2021.

If you have not been granted the possibility to "try and test" the higher speed for the 1st year and then downgrade, then there's no chance to do a downgrade before the contractual period ends. But as far as I remember, even in case of a downgrade, you'd then opt for at least 12 months to this lower speed.

Anyhow - even if you'd switch to a new location and cable internet isn't possible there and thus you'd be granted a right to prematurely end the contract, you'd have to pay for additional 3 months after your move. But I doubt that cable internet services won't be available at the student dorm...

And as I said - you're bound to the contract and have to pay for it, no matter if you opt to use it or not. Only exception from this would be the case that your contract cannot be fullfilled at the new location - and only then it's the afforementioned 3 months from the date you move (or the date that you notify Vodafone of your move if you do so after you've already changed locations).

The contract can then be terminated early. When are you moving exactly? Then I can arrange everything else for the termination.
