My internet speed dropped to half !!

Hello,

I have kabel internet 200, but since couple of weeks I noticed the speed is slower a bit. When I tested it using the internet test website I had a maximum of 100 Mbps for the download speed. I tried the test couple of times in different days with the same result.

Can you fix the problem so I can optain my normal internet speed?

did you have a 1Gbps ethernet connection between the cablerouter and your pc?

Of course. I tried the test multiple times with no one on the internet with ethernet cable. I already got the 200 Mbps before. But now it seems there is a problem that max the speed to 90 Mbps only

Hi Ahmad-Safwat,

is your ethernet connection at all the time? I can't see any connection now at the router.

Typical are the 90Mbps for only 100Mbps connection and not a 1Gbps.

Hi Jens,

Yes, some devices connected wireless and 2 devices connected with ethernet. I made the tests from the computer connected with ethernet.. i am not using my computer now thats why u dont see a connected device. But i have my computer PC always connected with ethernet. And With the same computer and with the same ethernet cable i got before my 200 mbps normally. I didnt change anything. And now the speed dropped to half.

I have checked the connection and the analysis has shown that your network card is not suitable for higher bandwidths than 100 MBit/s.

Which network card is installed in your computer?

Thanks for your support. But this is impossible as I obtained the 200 Mbps before with the same computer PC.

okay, the network card itself isn't the problem. Is it possible that you changed the settings to an limitation of 100 MBit/s? Could you try another cable that is suitable for the speed? Is there another device between the router and the PC?

Yes you are right. It was a cable issue. For some reason this cable now only provides 90 Mbps instead of 200. Thanks a lot for your help.
