IPV4 for Gigabit Cable connection!

Hi everyone,

Sorry for write in english 🙂

Recently I just changed my contract from 200Mbps to 1000Mbps and now I just found I lost my Public IPV4 address!

This make me a lot of problem my home Security stop working, it is not possible to have a look over my surveillance camera anymore and my alar system not working too. the connection to my nas from outside is just broken. and also I dont have FritzBox anymore 😞

So I just lost all of my benefits and now only have faster internet connection!!

new modem which vodafone just sent me simply *piep*! I cannot turn of firewall on the modem (a Wlan one) when I turned it off it will turned on automatically after 24 hours.

and there is no way to share/open ports per IPV6 separately!

So how can I have my public IPV4 again? (Dynamic one)

I just searching on the vodafone website and found something calle bridge mode!

what is that exactly and what can I doing with it?

Just to tell:

You get what you pay for - Vodafone clearly states in the AGB that the connection is realized using DS-Lite protocol, so you don't have a public IPv4 address any more.

If you need a public IPv4 address, you'll have to switch to a Business tariff and opt-in for the additional option called "Feste IP-Adresse" - then you'll have a public (and even static) IPv4 address. In any other case (both, using own retail hardware -or- switching to the Bridge Mode), you'll have no guarantee that it'll work - Vodafone can simply switch you to DS-Lite again.

By the way:

There is no port forwarding on IPv6 because it is not needed. You can address each device on it's own - so you simply open ports for a specific device within the router firewall. But you'll then have to use the public IPv6 from the device AND NOT the one from the router.

I already know how can I handle ipv6 and ports!
The problem is vodafone modem has no any option to exclude ports for certain devices!
Even when I exposed whole router, it just last for 24h and after that firewallall will turn on automatically!!!
I have my own advanced unifi firewall! But useless with this vodafone modem!!
And what is bridge mode at all? It seems it is somethings only by vodafone!
I cannot find more infos about it!
