My Fritz! Box Unable to Access Internet On VPN

Hello all:
I use a Fritz! Box 7530 for my internet connection on vodafone dsl. My problem come in this form.

When i connect my laptop to a vpn, the internet stops working until i turn off the vpn then it starts working again.

But when i use my phone, and connect to a vpn on my phone the internet from my Fritz! Box still works fine even with the same vpn account and settings. I don't know how the Fritz! Box works with vpn on my phone and doesn't work with the same vpn on my laptop. Please can someone help point me to what the problem could be. Thank you:

If you are connected to the laptop in the VPN, is it only the internet on the laptop that is no longer working, or is no other device working at all?

This is an issue with the VPN settings and has nothing to do with Vodafone.
