When can I cancel my Kabel-Internet contact earliest ?

Hello,

I've been using Vodafone Kabel Deutschland as the internet provider since June 2021. I'm not happy with it due to unstable and slow connection, would like to switch to another provider. When can I cancel my contract at the earliest ? Also, how does the cancellation process go ?

A regular cancellation can be requested to the end of the contractual term (usually 24 months) with a 3 months notice period.

No - the notice period has only been reduced for contracts that are already out of the minimum term (see §56 (3) TGK). There is no ruling inside the TKG about the notice period inside of the initial term - which means that the rules from the BGB (especially § 309 (9) BGB ) apply that allow a maximum of 3 months notice period at a maximum length of 24 months of the inital term.

Effectively, this means:

Maximum 3 months notice period to the end of the initial term and from the end of the minimum term on one month from the day the cancellation has been received. Anyhow I am not completely sure if it is possible to send a cancellation request within the minimum term that applies to a date in that first month after the minimum term has passed, e.g. a day less than one month before the term ends which would become effective to the day after the minimum term passed.

The notice period for old contracts can be 3 months, that's true. But Vodafone has set the notice period for all contracts to 1 month.
